  1. First off I want to say superb blog! I had
a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior
to writing. I have had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted
just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?

    Many thanks!

  2. (Sorry I had to delete your url, as it was broken). What I generally do is to get all my data in a scratchpad, sorted out in roughly the order I want to write it. It’s best to do at least a little bit of research beforehand, even if you know the subject, to get the facts sitting in your head.

Then I write a general opener, which for herbs would give info on names and so on.

Then I write one paragraph for each part that I’ve got in the scratchpad, just putting the data into my own words.

Then I write a closing paragraph with links to anything I think would be helpful.

Once it’s written, I read through it, check spelling etc and make it easy to understand, if it isn’t already.

Then I add the image and post it.

Try and write the way you speak, the way you might tell it to a friend in a letter or email (because we write slightly differently to how we speak). Once you get going, I’m sure you’ll find it a lot easier than you think.

    Hope this helps.
